Positive: The space was open & relatively comfortable. The location was great. We had unobstructed views of the bay...and it was a relatively quick walk to the beach on the ocean side. There was some limited parking that filled up fairly quickly, but it was fine and we just chose to walk back and forth.

Negative: The house could use some TLC. Many items were worn or dated...for example, refinished furniture such as the kitchen table and dressers were scratched with the original finish showing through, the kitchen sink faucet splashed heavily when washing dishes (only one spray setting worked), and the couches needed a thorough steam cleaning (though new ones were reportedly on order during our stay). The paint on the deck was peeling, caulk was missing in spots, and there’s a steep step between the two deck platforms that could be tricky for toddlers or anyone with limited mobility. Some basic functionality could also be improved. The master bathroom has a pedestal sink with no place to hang even a hand towel, leaving no convenient surface for toiletries (the half bath also has a pedestal sink). The master shower is a very small corner unit. Upstairs, the shared bathroom is located between two bedrooms, so the guest in the twin room must walk through one bedroom to access it. The internet was very frustrating. The network name and password were reversed in the check-in instructions, which we figured out easily, but the connection still didn’t work. We texted at check-in and were told the local team would reach out, texted again the next day with the same response, and didn’t hear from them until about four days later...And then only to advise that someone might be entering the home for a delivery. The lack of responsiveness was disappointing, especially since we had people working remotely, attending Zoom meetings, and one person taking the LSAT — all relying on mobile hotspots instead. When we return to the area, we’ll likely explore other options first, but none of these issues were deal-breakers, and we would still consider staying here again.
