Summary: We hit the bonanza in finding this hotel on a road trip home. Two other layover towns were a bust for hotel and steak house. Driving father north, we looked into Chico. We have never been to Chico but were looking for a nice steak house and hotel. We found the perfect restaurant with this gem (Diamond) of a hotel to stay that was only two blocks from the restaurant. Free parking and free breakfast were added perks. The hotel was very clean, classy and comfortable. It felt and looked like a vintage, antique hotel but with all the modern amenities. Crazy enough, we would divert from I-5 next time just to stay here. It's great to know that we now have a destination hotel when traveling between Oregon and southern California. We had a lovely dinner, then walk back to hotel for a night cap at the bar. A perfect evening.
