New name, new furniture, same wonderful Peaceful Forest Retreat! Mother-in-law suite attached to our home in Pike National Forest! Serene living space complete w/ 2 bed, 2 bath, living room, kitchenette (no stove), deck, TV, internet & deer!
Enjoy our secluded forest setting with easy access to the fun sites in Colorado Springs & the Urban delights of Denver.
Relax on the deck of our wooded retreat with your morning coffee or while you grill & play corn hole after a fun day of exploring.
Easy self check-in with a keypad entry!
Your entrance is on the back deck with access via a path around the house.
*Master bedroom with its happy bird decor boasts a queen bed, en-suite bathroom (shower, toilet, sink), and large closet. A pack-n-play is in the closet for your use.
*Llama bedroom can host four comfortably in its twin/full bunk bed and pull out trundle.
*Hall bathroom has been recently renovated in include a spacious sink, soaking tub / shower combo, and toilet behind its beautiful sliding barn door.
*Cozy up in the living space on the spacious couch in front of the gas fireplace. It will keep you toasty warm while you connect with friends or watch a show on the Roku TV. We provide a few games and books for your enjoyment during your stay.
*The kitchenette is part of the living space and is thoughtfully stocked to best accommodate your needs. It includes:

You also have private access to the gas grill on the back deck that has a side burner you can use as a stove burner.
You will have two dedicated parking spaces on the driveway. It is a short walk around our house on a woodsy mulch path to your private entrance on the back deck.
You will be provided with a code for the keypad lock on the back deck door prior to check in.
We have a large fenced backyard with deck, there is a partition between our portion and that of the guest suite for your privacy. You are welcome to enjoy the shared front yard with swings and and a ninja line on our land.
We are available if you need anything but like to give you your space to enjoy the woods and whatever adventure you are on. Let us know if you would like recommendations to restaurants or local sites. There are a bunch of fun mountain town activities and eats here in Monument and Palmer Lake (Colorado Springs too!)
This lovely guest suite attached to our home is a gem! It is so close to everything and you benefit from the safety of having our family next door and the seclusion of our forest home. You will marvel at how remote we feel while being 10 minutes from I-25! We are on a paved school route and so are always the first to be plowed making your drive easy even in the winter.
The neighborhood is adjacent to Mount Herman Open Space is one mile from our house and is a local favorite with miles of hiking and mountain biking to explore! You can find small ponds and large rock formations in your wanderings.
Palmer Lake is just a hop away as is the Historic Pine Crest (7 minutes to both!). You can bike there on back roads (3 miles) and enjoy an ice cream break at Rock House Ice Cream before you walk around the lake. There is a playground for the kids to enjoy and get the wiggles out before dinner. There are a couple great options: O'Malleys Pub where you can get the best wings in town, grill your own burger or steak, and grab a cold one; Bella Panini where you can relax and enjoy a glass of wine before you are served delicious Italian (get dessert!); or Dex's Diner where you can roll up and grab hot dogs and other fare for a quick yummy bite.
There are a few other places to eat in Palmer Lake and a bunch of good ones in Monument too! Just ask us!
We never imagined living in this forested paradise! We have 100 year old towering ponderosa pines, visiting deer and black bear passing through. We love being close to the mountain towns Palmer Lake and Monument and two Colorado lakes within 7 minutes. It is priceless for us to have our children growing up in the forest and learning independence through their outdoor adventuring. Snow forts and tree forts abound and the swings keep multiplying!
You probably will want a car to get around here. There are Ubers and Lyft available if you want to use their service.
****The guest suite is an attached, private mother-in-law suite that shares a living room wall with our personal living space. Please be aware that there are children and a sweet dog on the property and while the suite is completely separate sometimes you can hear children's noises as you could in a well insulated apartment setting. We will periodically have friends and family over to visit and will be respectful of your space and comfort. Please let us know if you have any questions. ****
