The village of Strasen is located approx. 10 km west of Fürstenberg at the connection between Ellbogensee and Großer Pälitzsee. Both lakes are connected by the Strasen lock. This dates back to 1845. The Müritz-Havel waterway and the Upper Havel waterway meet at Strasen. The village is surrounded by water and forest and has cycle and hiking trails that lead through green forests - along waterways - away from the main roads. The waterway through 1000-year-old Mecklenburg is one of the most beautiful inland water sports areas in Central Europe. By bike, kayak, canoe and on foot, you can explore the "Land of Lakes" and get to know the dense primeval forests and glistening lakes of Mecklenburg.
