Travel Purpose: leisure

Positive: The property is in a lovely rural location, so really quiet & peaceful. The house was spacious downstairs, so with a party of 7 family members, there was lots of space downstairs for everyone.

Negative: A number of things were wrong, which did negatively impact our stay: - There was a window left open when we arrived in the evening, the heating wasn’t on & there was no firewood provided, so the property was extremely cold on the first night. We then had to buy our own firewood the following day to last the weekend, as the property doesn’t come with wood fire - don’t be deceived by the log basket in the photos! - The bannister on the main stairs is very wobbly & feels like it is going to come away, which isn’t ideal when somebody needs support to climb the stairs. - The booking didn’t inform that there were attic rooms, which had steep stairs to get too, with only half a bannister. This is quite dangerous. You also have to walk through a room with 2 single beds to get to a double room - this wasn’t mentioned either. - Considering size of property, it would benefit with further bathrooms. - Downstairs shower room had an issue with the drain, which caused an awful smell, that could be smelt in the kitchen from the pantry.

Summary: A beautiful property in a rural location but we did experience some issues that did negatively impact our stay.
