Positive: Our group of four had the opportunity to stay at Mario’s wonderful rural property. Hidden away from the bustle of adamantas port, the property overlooks the town and sea (port area). A short drive (5-10 min) from most places on the island (beaches, grocery and restaurants) allowed us to explore the entire drivable portions of the island in 5 days. The property has a large deck area with a place to sit and have breakfast in the mornings overlooking the blue sea and in the evenings it’s wonderful to enjoy an evening looking at the stars. The way the building is positioned it provides nice coverage from the sometimes higher north winds (but you’re on an island, wind is to be expected 😊). On the patio there is a hot tub which we used nightly. The property has been in the family for a number of generations and has original buildings which have been renovated, and traditionally decorated. The kitchen includes all the things you could need and we made use of the coffee/espresso machine daily. The home came with 5 different types of coffee, bottled water and local honey from their property and some fresh fruit which was unexpected and a nice touch. There are two ways to access the property and it is recommend to take the newly paved route as recommend by the host. Keep in mind that this being a rural property (and island) a small portion of the route is not paved but completely passable by car. You are on an island, so just take your time and don’t be in a rush. Enjoy the adventure! We will definitely be rebooking Santa Marina Milos the next time we come to Milos and we highly recommend this beautiful property.
