St. Ives is situated in the much sort after Old Ocean Grove area with a fantastic open surf beach at the end of the street. A seven minute walk from the front door will have you wading in the waves. The main street of Ocean Grove with its excellent restaurants, cafes and shops is only four minutes walk or much quicker if you drive.
The unit has three well sized living areas which is unusual for a two bedroom house.
There is a sunken lounge with leather lounge and recliners and a TV and DVD video recorder. Off the meals area there is another living area with two couches and a 68cm TV and DVD player that can be seen from both the living area and the meals area.
The third living area is a large semi detached rumpus room with billiard table, soccer table, TV and video, stereo and board games. A great place for children and teenagers to escape to.
The kitchen is fully equipped with everything you need to cook up a storm including a microwave and full sized oven, and all crockery, cutlery and implements you may need. The meals area has a 5 foot square table that seats 8 and a stereo.
From the meals area you can access the outdoor courtyard where there is a BBQ and outdoor table seating 8. There is also a large fully fenced side and front yard.
The bathroom has a separate shower and bath and a hairdryer is provided. There is also a separate toilet off the laundry, which contains a washing machine and cleaning products. There is a clothes line outside and a smaller indoor one in the laundry for wet towels and bathers. Off street parking is provided for two cars under cover. Bedding consists of one queen bed in the first bedroom, one queen and two single bunks in the second bedroom and a fold out double couch in the living room. Visitors are asked to bring their own sheets, pillow cases and towels. Doona covers are provided.
We have facilities to cater for your pets, if you have a dog there are 2 courtyards with 170 cm fences that have under cover sections and one large dog kennel. As it is a corner block there is also a good sized side and front yard with 110 cm height tubular fence. For cats we have a cat enclosure in the rear courtyard where most cats love to sit in the afternoon sunshine. Please bring your own cat litter, food bowls and bedding. Why pay expensive boarding kennels when you can bring your pet with you? The surf beach at the end of our street is dog friendly and off lead all year round. There is also an off lead park at the football ground one block from the house, which also has a children's playground. Pets are allowed inside, however we ask visitors to keep their dogs off the furniture and carpet. There are extensive tiled inside where your pooches can relax.
Ocean Grove is home to one of the most beautiful surf beaches in Victoria. There is a surf life saving club to ensure your swimming is safe. The township has a vibrant shopping area with excellent restaurants, cafes and shops. A large late night supermarket is only 1 minute's drive from St. Ives. A 10 minute drive will take you to rustic Barwon Heads where there are excellent walks along the river and coffees available with an awesome sea view at the old boat house, as seen in "Sea Change".
Fifteen to twenty minutes will take you to historic Queenscliff near the Rip entrance to Port Phillip Bay, with its grand old Hotels and restaurants. In the other direction you can reach Geelong in the same time. A large city with all possible services. Other quaint Ballarine Peninsula towns including Point Lonsdale and Portarlington are within 10 or 20 minutes drive. Twenty minutes will also take you to Torquay and Bells Beach, probably the most famous surf beach in Australia. From there you can travel along the world famous Great Ocean Road.
