Positive: This was a lovely little cottage and it met our needs for the one night we were in Hirtshals. It was quite a distance from any where and while that is an advantage in some aspects, when you are travelling via train and without a car, it is quite challenging.

Negative: We had trouble with the hot water system; we were not able to have hot showers and had to contact the hosts who in turn, had us change things/settings on the boiler. The hosts were very efficient at getting back to us however, it was still annoying that we could not use the facilities at our leisure. We also had to contact the hosts re the heating, the air conditioner was not operating efficiently - the host then changed the setting remotely. I understand the reasoning for hosts having control of certain aspects, however guests should be able to choose their comfort level, especially when they are travelling from a warm part of the world into a Danish winter!

Summary: Lovely place, definitely need your own mode of transport to stay here!
