Macciangrosso is an ancient sixteenth-century residence built by Carlo Lo-dovico de' Piccolomini. The skilful restoration of the structure has preserved the charm and appeal of a past rich in memories. Located on the natural bastion that closes the Valdichiana to the south, Macciangrosso is immersed in the tranquility of a centuries-old park: between severe cypresses and tall cedars a labyrinth of box hedges unra-vels, which together with an enchanted ancient rose garden make up the traditional Italian garden

The residence of Macciangrosso is divided into two areas, "il Casale" and "i Chiesoni". "Il Casale" is on two levels and consists of five comfortable apartments and eight elegantly furnished double rooms, with bed and breakfast service. The Chiesone area, a few dozen metres from Casale, is a beautiful independent structure obtained from a former ancient church and the adjacent rectory; it consists of three comfortable apartments with garden and private parking.
All the units, which enjoy a magnificent view of the beautiful surrounding va-lleys, are equipped with private bathrooms, heating, air conditioning and re-served green area in front of the entrance of the single accommodation. ART AND BEAUTY'S

The Val di Chiana, the area that hosts the Macciangrosso residence, is surrounded by ancient thermal springs: from Bagno Vignoni to Sarteano, from Rapolano to Bagni San Filippo, where evocative white rocks surrounded by vegetation frame large pools of warm water. Together with the deeper contact with nature, Chianciano has instead thermal structures with large swimming pools and specific treatments for body care as well as offering, thanks to the beneficial properties of its waters, specific care treatments for the liver.
