Travel Purpose: leisure

Positive: Large, quiet hostel on edge of town. Large supermarket opposite, and a few minutes walk from centre, bars, restaurants etc, 1km from ruins. No English spoken, but friendly, helpful staff. Very clean. 24 hour access/front desk, key to room. Good wifi/internet/network, but did randomly drop on 1st day for a few seconds at a time. Good, large, fairly well provisioned kitchen to use. 6 ring gas hob/oven, large fridge/freezer, electric kettle, coffee maker, microwave, limited pots, pans, crockery and cutlery. Drinking water cooler. Large central 'island' to prepare and eat food, table & chairs next to kitchen. Further out in garden plenty of places to eat and relax (tables, chairs, hammocks), plenty sheltered from rain. Next day Laundry service (L85 (just over US$3) per lb (½kg)). Large bedroom, 2 double beds, 1 bedside cabinet and lamp between beds. Extra small cabinet on opposite wall. Plenty of powerpoints around room. Good air-conditioning and wall mounted fan. Bin in room. Good size bathroom with hot shower.

Negative: No visible signs of recycling. Cash only (dollars or Lempiras accepted). Not able to open blackout curtains to let natural light into bedroom. Limited storage, no hooks for wet clothes. Outside road can be noisy, but not generally at night. No towel hooks in bathroom, Shower soap dispensers not very good at dispensing. Slow to drain water.
